We offer higher music education in state-of-the-art facilities in the centre of Helsinki, Finland’s vibrant capital. At one of the largest music academies in Europe, you have a world of opportunities to explore ranging from instrument studies and conducting to global music, music technology and arts management.

Since the academy was founded in 1882, we have strived for the highest standards in music education. Ranked consistently among the world’s best performing art schools, our international community includes 1,400 students and researchers from 60 countries, and our faculty of 600 staff come from all over the globe.

Studies

At the Sibelius Academy you can complete a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music degree, a Licentiate degree and a Doctoral degree. We also provide youth and adult education.

Research

Research and music practices are closely intertwined at the Sibelius Academy.

Artistic activities and events

Artistic activities culminate in public concerts, most of which are held at the Helsinki Music Centre.
