Kuvan Kevät 2026
Master’s Degree show 15 May – 14 June 2026
About the exhibition
The annual exhibition Kuvan Kevät showcases the works of 45 students completing their Master’s degrees at the Academy of Fine Arts. Participating students come from all four disciplines: Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Time and Space Arts. The expansive exhibition will be held across the Kuva/Tila gallery, Myllytori, and other floors of the Mylly building at the Sörnäinen campus.
This year’s iteration brings together a diverse range of artistic work and provides insight into the artistic thinking of a new generation. Although it is not a thematic exhibition, many works focus on specific techniques or media to examine issues of materiality, identities, self-expression, technologies, and the pressing issues of our times.
Academy of Fine Arts’ lecturer in Art & Society, Suzanne Mooney, oversees Kuvan Kevät 2026. Alongside her colleagues in the production and technical teams, she instils a process of guidance and support through clear communication and attentiveness.

The exhibition catalogue texts have emerged from conversations between the artists and students from the Bachelor’s Programme in Contemporary art theory and history, as well as the Praxis Master’s Programme in Curating and writing in contemporary art. The texts bring forth various approaches to artistic practices, and lead toward the materials, ideas, surrounding life and environments that precede the finished work. Catalogue editors: Isa Lumme ja Telma Pietiäinen.
