About the Artist

Heidi Lahtinen (b. 1984) is a visual artist living and working in Helsinki. Her techniques include tufting as well as various metal, wood and casting methods. Lahtinen works with materials such as wool yarn, metal, concrete and wood. The theme of her works are extinct animal species. In some of the works, animals are presented as if their remains were found in a tar pit all jumbled together. In some works, animals appear as they were when they were alive.
