Nitin Sawhney: “AI is just a tool – what’s important is to focus on what we actually want to achieve”
Our visiting researcher Nitin Sawhney has combined science and technology, human rights and artistic research in his career. In December 2025, Uniarts Helsinki awarded him the title of docent, which is a recognition awarded for significant research or artistic merits.

Curator Nina Liebenberg finds that being an outsider is a fertile starting point for curatorial work. In her Planthology project, Liebenberg invites audiences to explore the shared history of plants and humans through the lens of disease.

New international research reveals widespread and systemic sexual violence in the arts and culture sector
The #MeToo movement revealed the widespread nature of sexual harassment and violence in the arts and culture sector, breaking the illusion of an open, equal and progressive field. A new anthology demonstrates that gender-based violence is both extensive and systemic. Due to the lack of previous research, the book seeks to fill this gap through multiple case studies across different countries.
