Uniarts Helsinki’s Internationalisation programme 2021–2024
Programme aimed to enhance the recruitment and employment of international professionals in Finland and strengthen collaborations with key international partners and regions. This page highlights outcomes from the concluded programme, focusing on the Talent Boost initiative and global networks.

Talent Boost
As a result of the Talent Boost programme, Uniarts Helsinki developed recruitment and support services for international students and staff. The university also launched a student ambassador programme, established a resource bank for art and culture professionals, and initiated the Fair Sculpture project for youth without prior art and culture experience.

Planning officers in the internationalisation programme develop service paths for students and staff to promote integration in Finland
In 2021, Uniarts Helsinki launched a three-year internationalisation programme funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. One part of the programme is the Talent Boost project, which promotes the recruitment of international students and staff, improves their services and helps students find employment after graduation. The project will also lead to various support measures that will make it easier for international members of the community to integrate themselves into Uniarts Helsinki and Finland.

Fair Sculpture encourages and helps empower children and young people, with a focus on young people who have fewer opportunities to engage with different kinds of art and culture.

Art Pro Finland
A resource bank designed to help art and culture professionals understand, articulate, and develop their skills. This site can also be useful for professionals from other fields seeking insights into the art and culture sectors.
Global Projects
The global projects aimed to establish collaborative networks between Finnish and partner universities in target countries, fostering bidirectional cooperation. At Uniarts Helsinki, these projects focused on African nations.

EDUCase
EDUCase Higher Education Platform for Global Sustainability aimed to establish a platform for interdisciplinary collaborative arts projects that bring together artists and art professionals in Finland, Tanzania and Mozambique.

Finland-Africa Platform for Innovation FAPI Pilot
A pedagogic research project exploring the socially innovative capacities of contextual / site-responsive art practice in the Nordic and Pan-African contexts.

Uniarts GINTL
The UniArts GINTL collaboration sets out to expand our understanding on knowledge and knowing through artistic thinking and art making. With the help of concrete arts-based practices, the project aims to diversify pedagogical processes. The international project develops an open, global platform for wide-ranging dialogues related to learning and education.

Mobility and Literature in the Arts (MobiLit)
The project promotes the mobility of African and Finnish writing students, researchers and teachers.

Singing encourages speaking in Finnish
The Learn Finnish by Singing course helps international students and staff at Uniarts Helsinki to speak Finnish. Singing together and expressing the language holistically through music supports pronunciation as well as the activation and understanding of the spoken language, among other things. Music makes learning a language fun.
