Theatre Hall
The Theatre Hall is the Theatre Academy’s largest performance hall. The hall is equipped especially for the student performances.
The Theatre Hall is the biggest performance space of the Theatre Academy. It mostly plays host to Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy’s student productions.
The hall is equipped with high-quality lighting and audio systems. It is also possible to execute video projections. It is on the same level as the wood and metal workshops, which makes set building and disassembling easier. The lighting, audio and set equipment can be set up on rails of the lighting bridges or on the eight-meter long trusses (8 pcs) equipped with motorised chain hoists. The weight limit of the trusses is 250 or 500 kg, depending on the hoist. The equipment can be attached to the walls with C-rails which are set one metre apart. The trim height for lighting bridges is 6.5m and maximum trim height for trusses is 7m.
The space is surrounded with curtain rails, and the hall can be surrounded with black or white opaque and fire resistant Molton curtains. If necessary, modifiable seating and stage structures (Nivoflex and Stageright) can be added to the space. The space has a wooden sprung floor.
The side room adjacent to the studio can be used for example for costume changes, make-up and as a break room. Note that Theatre Hall shares the side space with Studio 4.
The Theatre Hall can hold a maximum of 150 people and its size is 216 m².
Studio hire
If there are vacancies, the Theatre Hall can be hired to outsiders for events that are clearly connected to the university. If you are interested in hiring the Theatre Hall, please contact Facilities Director Matti Rautio (matti.rautio@uniarts.fi).
