Young artists of Summer: Tatu Eskelinen

Kurkota korkeuksiin – Solo concert by pianist Tatu Eskelinen.

Tatu Eskelinen’s solo concert consists of mature works by the most important piano composers, which are connected by the multilevel nature of all the compositions, a description of some higher force or ideal.

Liszt’s Legend No. 2 and Chopin’s Fantasia are paired in dialogue with Beethoven’s late piano sonatas op. 101 and op. 111: the similar meanings of the music can be seen through the various means used by the composers.

Programme

  • F. Liszt: Legend No 2 “St. François de Paule marchant sur les flots”
  • L. van Beethoven: Sonata Op. 101
  • Intermission (h3)
  • F. Chopin: Fantasia Op. 49
  • L. van Beethoven: Sonata Op. 111

Performers

  • Tatu Eskelinen, piano
