In the Naisten Salonki concert, soprano Milla Mäkinen and pianist Jenna Ristilä will perform vocal and piano music by Finnish women composers from the 19th century to the present day. The poems in all the songs were also written by women. In the tradition of solo vocal performances, we are used to hearing poems written by men set to music composed by men. What happens when the tables are turned and the stories are about women’s experiences as interpreted by women?
- Milla Mäkinen, soprano
- Jenna Ristilä, piano
