Nicoletta Sanzin, born in Trieste, excelled at the Conservatory “J.Tomadini” in Udine under Prof. P.Tassini’s guidance. She furthered her studies in the U.S.A. with E.Malone (Eastman University) and S.McDonald (Indiana University), and in Italy with E.Zaniboni at the Accademia di S.Cecilia in Rome, earning top marks and honors. In 2006, she received her Diploma Superiore in discipline musicali-Harp performance with distinction from the Conservatorio “A.Buzzolla” in Adria (VE).

Having won the Absolute First Prize in the International “E.Porrino” competition in Cagliari, Nicoletta has also garnered numerous accolades in national and international competitions. Her performances at prestigious events like the World Harp Congresses and European Harp Symposiums have propelled her career. She has represented Italy at the World Harp Congresses in Dublin (2005), Hong Kong (2017), and Cardiff (2022), showcasing a program of music by Italian young composers.

Nicoletta has collaborated with esteemed orchestras worldwide, including Teatro Verdi di Trieste, the Oltenia Philharmonic of Cracow, and Teatro La Scala. From 1995 to 2001, she served as Solo Harpist in the Slovenska Filharmonija in Ljubljana, performing as a soloist and participating in numerous radio and TV recordings.

Since 1983, Nicoletta has been an active soloist and chamber musician, appearing at prominent festivals and theaters. She has recorded over 20 CDs and worked closely with contemporary composers, premiering their compositions. Currently, she serves as a Harp Professor at G.Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, participates as a jury member in national and international competitions, and conducts masterclasses.

Nicoletta contributes to the World Harp Congress Review as the Italian correspondent and to the online harp review “In Chordis.” In 2011, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the World Harp Congress, representing Italian harpists worldwide. Since 2014, she has been part of the Artistic Committee of the Italian Harp Association.
