Sediments Festival 2026

Sediments Festival, organised by the M.A. CDPR, brings students and dramaturgical practices from five European cities to KokoTeatteri.

Sediments Festival 2026 in Helsinki is the second edition of the dramaturgy festival organised by the M.A. Comparative Dramaturgy and Performance Research in a shared process across five European universities.

First initiated in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 2024, Sediments brings together a transnational performing arts student community for a festival of shared artistic research and dramaturgical thinking and practice.
This year’s edition, hosted at the new location of KokoTeatteri (Kapteeninkatu 26), focuses on works and artistic research in progress. Across four days, participants open their creative processes, testing ideas, methods, and unfinished material together. Showings, discussions, and collaborative workshop formats invite participants into the making process rather than presenting finished results.

The festival creates space for different artistic practices, perspectives, and dramaturgies to meet, clash, and evolve. Sediments Festival is a place to experiment, connect, and rethink how we create performance art together.
