Electroacoustic musical performance walk

Off-grid electroacoustic performance in Töölö Bay blends custom instruments, environment, and reflection on sound and sustainability.

Please note: Meeting at the main entrance of the Sibelius Academy, Töölönlahdenkatu 16. The performance is primarily intended for a jury and a small audience (approx. 15 people).

Please pre-register here.

An outdoor electroacoustic performance by a trio of multidisciplinary artist-researchers, featuring custom-designed instruments that do not rely on grid-supplied electricity nor battery.

Sounding together with the milieu of Töölö Bay, the performers engage in a musical act that invites audiences to feel and reflect on the following questions:
How can we rethink the presentation of electroacoustic music beyond the traditional, technologically saturated concert hall?
What might instrument design, performance design, and the act of performance itself reveal—or transform—in our relationship with the environment?

The event includes an itinerant aspect: the audience will stand and move between a couple of locations along the shores of Töölö Bay. Recommendations: dress according to the weather and for walking on a sand road; be at the departure point a few minutes before 13.00 and wait for the performer to start the walk.
