Subtle Corporealities develops artistic proposals for resistance and reparation of damage while testing the boundaries of self expression without overt exposure. With the project we hope to advance a transcontextual ground on which we develop and share knowledge between an Iranian and a Finnish artist-researcher. Our political contexts differ, but we share an interest in moving at the borderlines of norms which assign bodies, especially feminised bodies, to their places. We examine ways to both utilise and end silences without self-sacrifice which would put us, and others like us, at risk.
The research project is funded by Kone Foundation.
