2. Degrees and qualifications

date when granted (sort by date, most recent first); name of degree/qualification; main subject / degree programme or similar; name of educational institution; place and country where completed; contact details for the institution that granted your highest-ranking degree or qualification.

3. Other education

other education, vocational qualification or supplementary education; date of completion; name of programme, scope and provider (name and location).

4. Language skills

  • native language
  • other language skills: level attained and date of certificate, or justified self-assessment (you may use the Europass guideline as an aid)

5. Current employment

  • start and end date(s) of employment relationship(s); current job title, employer and workplace (brief job description if necessary)
  • most important current freelance assignments, with duration and employer or similar party (brief job description if necessary)
  • if you are a full-time student: educational institution (name and location) and your projected degree, training programme or similar

6. Previous work experience

  • previous employment relationships (most recent first); start and end date(s) of employment relationship(s); job title, employer and workplace (brief job description if necessary)
  • previous secondary occupations and other assignments and affiliations relevant for the degree for which you are applying (including freelance assignments)

7. Grants

grants: start and end date(s) of grant(s); type of funding, body awarding the grant, grant amount; your role in the funded project

8. Artistic activities

  • a brief description of a maximum of 10 artworks or projects that are of relevance for your proposed degree project, including samples that may include e.g.
    • performances or rehearsals
    • other audio materials
    • scores or other documentation explaining how a composition is executed

Note! Please include samples as Internet links in the portfolio file. Ensure that the links are functional. You may also upload the material to a private Vimeo or YouTube page and then provide its address and password (if any).

You may also attach the samples as separate files to your application in the Opintopolku application service. Each attachment must not be larger than one gigabyte (1 GB). Opintopolku accepts common audio and video file formats. If you attach your samples as separate files, list the titles of the attachment files at this point in your portfolio.

  • include a list of other projects of relevance for your proposed degree project (recordings, performances, productions, compositions, etc.) separately at the end of your portfolio (item 14)
  • published writings relating to your artistic activities (e.g. articles); if there are many of these, you may include a list  of them at the end of the portfolio (item 14)

9. Compulsory attachments for composer and conductor applicants

Note! Please include samples as Internet links in the portfolio file. Ensure that the links are functional. You may also upload the material to a private Vimeo or YouTube page and then provide its address and password (if any).

You may also attach the samples as separate files to your application in the Opintopolku application service. Each attachment must not be larger than one gigabyte (1 GB).   • Composer applicants: a selection of scores (4 to 6) with recordings, or audio samples (3 to 5) with scores or other documentation of how the compositions were realised.
  • Orchestra, wind orchestra and choir conductor applicants: a video recording no more than two years old, of a high technical and artistic quality, that allows the board to evaluate your potential to pass the proficiency test. The recording where you conduct the proficiency test repertoire must be made with a professional (or professional student) orchestra or choir and must have a duration of 20 to 30 minutes. The recording, in which you must both conduct and rehearse the repertoire, should include 2 or 3 segments and must be shot from the perspective of the orchestra or choir so that you are facing the camera and some of the musicians or singers are also visible. You may submit recordings by uploading them to an online video hosting service and providing a link (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).

Mark the teaching merits of relevance for your proposed degree project with an asterisk (*).

  • pedagogical training and other demonstrated pedagogical competence
  • brief description of teaching experience
  • development of teaching and of teaching methods
  • development of teaching materials (with links to samples, if these are relevant for your proposed degree project)

11. Prizes and recognitions

  • prizes awarded in competitions
  • prizes and recognitions awarded for artistic merit
  • recognitions awarded for teaching

12. Other major artistic merits, e.g.:

  • artistic collaborations
  • arts management or administration duties

13. Impact of artistic activities
