The Fratres accordion trio is a unique phenomenon in the Finnish music scene. The trio’s repertoire covers everything from Russian Romanticism and baroque all the way to heavy metal and techno.

The Fratres accordion trio is a unique phenomenon in the Finnish music scene. Trio Fratres has forged an extensive international career by performing contemporary Finnish art music as well as Russian works from the Romance era and baroque music. Heavy music and techno are also prominent in the trio’s repertoire. The trio has performed in 14 different countries both in Europe and outside it, including in Lebanon, Mexico and Japan.

Every Finnish premiere commissioned by the trio between 1996 and 2003 will be performed at the 30th anniversary concerts by as many as four different accordion trios. The concert is a collaboration of the music universities of Denmark, Lithuania and Finland as well as the Kokkola Talviharmonikka accordion festival.
