Changing the subject

I was wondering whether I should write about this at all. This blog should be about motivating other arts management students and give an insight to the ones who might apply to the programme later. But it is not like me to give just the best parts. And sometimes the studies just don’t go that smoothly and the thesis is the only thing missing.

As many of you know, I have been working on my thesis for over a year now with more and less active periods. It has been hard to find time to read and write as I am working full-time at the moment.

I have been trying to get to the bottom of the problem. It is usually a good thing when something does not move forward with the paste that it should. I think that if the subject of my thesis would have been the best possible for me, I would have been ready ages ago. But it is not the best one and I am not done.

So I have been trying to weigh my options. I could try to force myself to do it no matter how hard. Or I could try to find a new subject that would fit me and my current purposes and interests better. And I took the latter option.

So what happens next then? Me and a couple of my classmates, who haven’t graduated yet, are gathering at the Music Centre to read, write and exchange ideas this spring. We have chosen the first weekend of every month for this. And we hope to motivate each other to make it to the finish line in time.

And what’s the deadline for graduation? It is the end of 2017. We have been given the right to study at the University of Arts until the end of this year. So I would say that this should speed some things up.

But stay tuned!
