Peter Götzel: Chamber music group is like family
The Sibelius Academy Chamber Orchestra and smaller groups were introduced to teh world of Viennese traditions and classical music in a master class by Peter Götzel, chamber music master and violinist known for example as a former member of the Vienna Philharmonic. The master class was concluded by a concert in the Helsinki Music Centre.
We met mr. Götzel in the mist of practisess and asked him about the most important factors in chamber music playing.
– A chamber music ensemble of any size is like a family, where everybody should understand eachother. And is also very important to have a good second violinist, he states.
