NYKY Ensemble: Valonsäteitä – Rays of Light
NYKY Ensemble serves the listener a tasty five-course menu, composed for a range of different chamber ensembles.
The winter darkness of Lapland breaks towards the first rays of light in Beaivi by Outi Tarkiainen, while the works by Rebecca Saunders, Jukka Tiensuu, Niccolò Castiglioni and the centenarian Betsy Jolas arch from a static crepuscule towards sonic brilliance. The rhythmic and sonorous richness of these works provides musicians an excellent platform to hone their ensemble playing skills.
