Laura Mehmetin maisterikonsertti ‘’Live Autopsy. Bring Friends”.
Autopsy. Borrowed from the Greek autopsia, “the act of seeing with one’s own eyes”.
This master’s recital is a voluntary exhibition: allowing oneself to be seen from the inside, in fragments, in tensions, in memories, in contradictions. Rather than a linear portrait, it is a constellation of states, cut out in an almost surgical manner. The audience is not invited to observe passively. It is required.
The programme, combining pieces originally written for accordion, including a composition written especially for the occasion, and arrangements for accordions, reflected a very intimate reflection on the part of the musician. The concert is a form of collective introspection combining music, performance, musical theatre, improvisation, dance and a desire to connect with the audience as directly and sincerely as possible.
