Global Fest: Unwind.

Unwind; the space between sleep and wakefulness, order and entropy.

Revolving around trumpet, voice, and wind instruments made from bull kelp and birch. Spaces are created and interwoven. Now comes the algaes turn, which do not fit into any category, but embrace multiplicity, in a queer time and space. We zoom in on the micro and out on the macro. Here, the microalgae native to the Baltic Sea and creating the air we breathe give us energy from which to be musically inspired, we dance with them as they search for the light. The algae are the shepherds of the Baltic Sea.

We also explore frequencies that can be created with macro algae of bull kelp from South Africa and from the Oregon Coast. We enter the in-between of the water, the anthropomorphic, that which we try to understand but can never reach. Feelings, stories and shared webs of connection create constellations, chaos and sometimes moments of peacefulness. We invite you to be in the moment, and connect to what is around you.

Pieces in this concert are a combination of comprovisation, compositions by Devina Boughton and improvised and created collectively, and some folk music from archives of KA Gottlund from 1800’s shepherds music repertoire.
