Global Fest: Arabic Ensemble & Persian Music Ensemble

Arabic Ensemble & Persian Music Ensemble at Global Fest

Persian Ensemble

The Persian Music Ensemble, led by Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari, brings together students from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds to explore the rich traditions of Iranian classical music. The ensemble studies and performs within the modal systems (dastgāh), while also encouraging each performer to express their own individual musical voice.

Arabic Ensemble

The Arabic music ensemble is led by Nemat Battah and focusses on students learning to play and understand the repertoire of traditional Arabic music from the eastern Mediterranean region. In this concert, the ensemble will perform pieces they have been working on as part of their ensemble studies. This autumn the students have been focusing on learning repertoire of Maqam Nahawand.

Changes are possible.
