Gestures of Attention: A Reader in Comparative Dramaturgy (Theatre Academy Publication Series)
Edited by Katalin Trencsényi, Nikolaus Müller-Schöll, Sophie Osburg, Mads Thygesen, Christophe Triau, and Karel Vanhaesebrouck – with contributions to the work of the editors from Nora Frizzi Auerbach, Sunniva Arnesdatter Fliflet, Anna Korolainen Crevier, and Nora Rinne.
This volume approaches dramaturgy from various perspectives and practices. Just like the students of the CDPR programme do, the book invites the reader on a journey through five cities: Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, Oslo, and Helsinki. Each city, each part of the book, named after these places, reflects some of the dramaturgical thinking of its cultures and geography. The volume also includes nine essays (by Anne-Françoise Benhamou, Bernard Dort, Olivier Neveux, Katariina Numminen, Ulla Ryum, Einar Schleef, and others) published in English translation for the first time.
The event contains a roundtable conversation with the editors, followed by a book signing and reception.
