Sibelius Academy Sinfonietta performs beautiful repertoire conducted by Sakari Oramo.
Sibelius Academy’s Sinfonietta’s programme for the concert titled Enthusiasm and Power of Expression was put together by Maestro Sakari Oramo to do justice to the lively playing and enthusiastic approach of young musicians.
The Concert Românesc of György Ligeti known as a great avant-gardist is a colourful, easy-to-approach work with echoes of Romanian folk music. Among other things, Ligeti’s works are known from Stanley Kubrick’s films.
The expressive power of Metabole, a work by the multi-award winning Lithuanian woman composer Onutė Narbutaitė, creates and intensive atmosphere and stirs the listener’s imagination.
The concert also features Haydn’s light-hearted Symphony no. 22 and the magnificent clarinet concerto of the American composer Aaron Copland.
