20th anniversary concert of the degree programme in Wind orchestra conducting

The concert celebrates the 20th anniversary of the degree programme in Wind orchestra conducting at Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki.

Pasuuna

In this concert at Temppeliaukio Church, wind orchestra conducting students have the opportunity to conduct the Finnish Navy Band.

The programme offers an interesting selection of Nordic music for wind instruments. Soloist Sakari Mäki-Mattila will interpret the trombone concerto of the Danish composer Launy Gröndahl. Other featured composers are Jean Sibelius, Harri Ahmas, Jukka-Pekka Lehto, Egil Hovland and Hugo Alfvén.
