Uniarts Helsinki admits 265 new students

New students to Uniarts Helsinki have been selected. Out of the 81 programmes available for application this spring, 79 entrance examinations were arranged completely digitally due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The number of new bachelor’s and master’s students admitted to the university was 265, of whom 22 will study at the Academy of Fine Arts, 170 at the Sibelius Academy, and 73 at the Theatre Academy.

The bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes received a total of 4,212 applications, while the total number of applicants was 3,690. The number of applications was 816 at the Academy of Fine Arts, 1,327 at the Sibelius Academy, and 2,069 at the Theatre Academy.

Uniarts Helsinki is one of Finland’s most sought-after universities, as only about 7.2% of the applicants were admitted. The most popular degree programmes were Acting, Fine Arts and Music Education.

The number of applicants and admitted students varies each year, because some programmes do not admit new students on a yearly basis.
