Logomimesis – A Treatise on the performing body
Research project by Esa Kirkkopelto outlines a theory of the performing body.
Introduction
I am preparing a monograph which aims at outlining a theory of the performing body. My focus is in particular in the event of the scenic transformation and virtualisation, when a word is embodied or bodies start to speak scenically. What happens if we give primacy for the artistic phenomena of this kind?
My research, moving in the domains of artistic research and performance philosophy, considers the deconstructive consequences of this “logomimetic” turn for the traditional “mimetological” discourses and the modes of knowledge formation. The work was published by Tutkijaliitto in 2020.
