Decayed wood created new life in our forests. What happens when we “take the death away? “

As a result of commercial forestry, one third of the forest fungal species are under threat. Decaying wood maintain important ecosystem services. Decay fungi are most important decomposers in boreal forests. Concert expresses scientific research and results through artistic expression.

The Global Music students group has familiarized themselves with the situation of wood decay fungi in the Finnish forest under the guidance of professor Raisa Mäkipää, Finnish Natural Resources Centre, visited Sipoo research forest area and worked their experience into an artistic form.

The concert is a dialogue between research, researcher´s thoughts and artists. At the concert, the audience is also welcome to ask questions about the topic to the speakers.
