Opening of the 2025–2026 academic year
Welcome to celebrate the new academic year in the R Building on the Töölö campus on 11 September starting at 15:00!
The opening event takes place in the Concert Hall of the R Building. After the opening ceremony, attendees are welcome to make their way to the Sörnäinen campus to celebrate the opening of the BFA exhibition at the Kuva/Tila gallery. A free bus ride has been arranged from the R Building to the BFA exhibition opening.

Procession from Sörnäinen to Töölö
Gathering at the Tori courtyard in Kookos at 13:45 so that the procession can leave at 14:00 sharp
Join the procession from the Sörnäinen campus to the R Building in Töölö! The goal is not to just go from point A to point B but to make people on the streets of Sörnäinen and Töölö and in between see and hear the Uniarts Helsinki community. Music by Ritimanta Sikurikuna will provide a rhythmical backdrop for the procession. The walk will take about 50 minutes.

As part of the opening programme, a film essay will be presented in the Concert Hall of Building. A painting that is the other half of this overall artwork is on display in the lobby of the R Building.

Free bus ride to the opening of the BFA exhibition that is arranged on the Sörnäinen campus. The bus, operated by Åbergin linja, leaves from the bus stop on Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu next to the Parliament House. There are seats for the 40 fastest to get in the bus.
