Dr. Violeta Simjanovska

Dr. Violeta Simjanovska has more than 25 years academic and working experience gained in the field of arts management and cultural policy in Europe and worldwide. Starting as electrical engineer and continuing to manage a music festival and working as a general manager of a Performing Arts Research Centre, she has led many international projects in different fields. Her expertise and research interest are focused on Cultural Policy issues as well as the relation between the Arts and Society.  Her wide experience in the areas of policy, arts and society, arts management, intercultural competences, and strategic management extends beyond 30 countries. She is currently member of the Executive board of ENACTC and few other NGOs. At the moment, Simjanovska operates as a Head of arts management department and lecturer in Arts Management at Sibelius Academy, University of Arts Helsinki. In addition, she works as a consultant and cultural expert for UNESCO, European Commission, European Diplomacy Platform, Goethe Institute, etc..

Visiting professor Dr. Franco Bianchini

Dr Franco Bianchini is one of the Associate Directors of the Centre for Cultural Value, based at the University of Leeds. He is also Visiting Professor at the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki, and a member of the Council of Founders and of the Board of the Fitzcarraldo Foundation, Turin. His publications and research interests concern topics including: the role of cultural resources and interculturalism in urban innovation and regeneration; European Cities/Capitals of Culture, and urban cultural strategies in the context of changes in contemporary political cultures.

Prof. Toni-Matti Karjalainen

Dr. Toni-Matti Karjalainen is recently appointed Professor of Arts Management in Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts Helsinki, tasks starting in August 2020. He is also Adjunct Professor (Docent) of Music Management and Culture Export at Aalto University in Espoo, where he has worked as Academy Research Fellow and Research Manager. Karjalainen holds a Doctor of Arts degree in Art and Design and Master of Science in Economics. He has been visiting professor, lecturer, researcher, and reviewer in many universities around the world, and worked in close collaboration with companies and organizations within different creative, cultural, and commercial fields. Karjalainen has produced over one hundred academic publications in different outlets, ranging from design and brand management to heavy metal music. Routledge will publish his newest book Made in Finland – Studies in Popular Music, co-edited with Kimi Kärki, at the end of 2020.

Milena Dragicevic Sesic is Professor Emerita and UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Management at the University of Arts, Belgrade.
