Nordplus funding for Nordic Choreographic Platform’s new initiatives
External funding of 70 000 euros enables the provision of internationally collaborative courses for choreography students.
Nordplus has granted Nordic Choreographic Platform (NCP) the full requested funding of nearly 70 000 euros for new initiatives. With the funding, NCP will create two intensive courses: Curated Context-Based Encounter and Peer2Peer.
Curated Context-Based Encounter will be held in Helsinki in collaboration with the Moving in November Dance Festival. Peer2Peer is organised in Copenhagen in collaboration with Dansehallerne.
Additionally, with the granted funding, NCP is creating a two-year pedagogical development project aimed at teaching staff, which will concentrate on themes of sustainability.
“Functioning fully with external funding, Nordic Choreographic Platform offers the Master’s Programme in Choreography international opportunities that would not be possible with the regular teaching budget”, says Kirsi Monni, professor of choreography.
NCP consists of four leading higher art education institutions in the Nordic region: Oslo National Academy of the Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki, Stockholm University of the Arts and The Danish National School of Performing Arts.
