Lotta Ilomäki

Job description

Lotta Ilomäki works as a lecturer in aural skills and music pedagogy at the Sibelius Academy (University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland). She holds a Doctor of music degree (music theory) and a diploma in piano performance from the Sibelius Academy and also studied at the Kodály Institute in Hungary. Previously, she has taught at the Helsinki University and music schools for young people. She has conducted international workshops and guest lectures in several countries.

The research interests of Lotta Ilomäki include learning conceptions behind aural-skills education, instrumentalists’ needs for musicianship studies, action research and teacher education.
