Exhibitions at Myllytori

Exhibitions at Myllytori showcase the artistic work and teaching going on at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Myllytori is a public exhibition space on the second floor of the Mylly building at the Academy of Fine Arts. The space is used for organising short-term exhibitions featuring works by students and researchers in various stages of their studies or academic careers. Exhibitions may also centre around courses and working groups’ projects.
Exhibitions change frequently, and they form an important part of art teaching. They highlight the diverse range of artistic work happening at the academy and shed light on processes that the public would otherwise not hear about. Myllytori encourages experimentation and offers a space for displaying finished or unfinished artworks or works that are rather ideas in progress.
A guiding principle for the activities in the space is to present the academy’s art teaching to people in the outside world. Through Myllytori, the public gets a glimpse of what is going on at the Academy of Fine Arts at any given moment. Admission to the exhibitions and events is always free during the opening hours of Mylly.
