About the Artist

Viljamaria Raittila (b. 1996) paints elegiac scenes with pale, greytinted colours. The oil and tempera paintings study the recurring themes of vulnerability, nostalgia, today’s decadence, shadows, reflections and translucent layers. The paintings are love letters to memories.
