Ida Tomminen

About the Artist

Ida Tomminen (b. 1999, Sipoo) works in the expanded field of sculpture. In her practice, she explores the relationship between the flat image and the three-dimensional object. By reproducing found imagery removed from its original context, Tomminen seeks to understand what images actually do. Ideas of the universal, illusion and imitation, as well as questions of scale and the physical qualities of selected materials, inform her work.
