Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University offers a versatile selection of studies in music, fine arts, theatre and dance, as well as studies in entrepreneurship and career skills that are suited for the arts sector.

As an Open University student, you get to see what university-level studies in the arts are like, expand your professional skills or discover a new inspiring artistic hobby under the tutelage of the best possible experts. The application period for studies that are available this autumn at Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University will begin on 17 June. Remember to check the course-specific application periods and instructions.
The Open University has dozens of inspiring courses available in autumn 2025. The studies range from choreographic work, activist art and the politics of body to acting, a study module in jazz and the basics of writing drama. The selection also includes studies in entrepreneurship and career skills aimed at the arts sector.
The Open University can be a launchpad for pursuing a university degree, and the Degree Programme in Music Technology is now one of the programmes admitting students through the Open University path.

People interested in entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply for the autumn 2025 edition of Uniarts Hub. The 12-week pre-incubator programme offers the participants a comprehensive overview of business activities in the arts and creative sector and useful help in developing their business idea.
Free studies for arts professionals and Uniarts Helsinki alumni
Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University offers studies and services that promote working life skills to professionals in the independent arts sector without charging any course fees.
Uniarts Helsinki’s alumni who have graduated after 1 August 2020 also have the right to complement their studies free of charge at Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University.
