Yle filmed a second season of the documentary series depicting the everyday lives of Theatre Academy students. Teatterikorkea 2 – näyttämölle valitut can be streamed on Yle Areena starting from 9 March.

The second season of the series follows acting and scenography students as well as classes for joint studies that have students from various programmes.

In the series, third-year acting students participate in a clowning course led by the French teacher Philip Boylau and rehearse for the Helsinki City Theatre co-production Kaunotar ja hirviöt, with Linda Wallgren as the director. Scenography and lighting design students are shown completing the Surface and Light course and course demos, where they present the processes and results of their work.

Students share their thoughts on the Theatre Academy’s entrance exams, arts studies and job-hunting in the theatre sector despite the challenging economic situation. Students are also shown living their regular lives. Permanent and visiting staff at the Theatre Academy are also interviewed.

The second season consists of five episodes. Most of the episodes were filmed during the 2025 spring term.

The first season focused on a group of acting and dance students. The season is still available on Yle Areena.
