Nevertheless, the university must still work on improving students’ wellbeing and digital learning environments.

Survey results
Course feedback 2024
The questionnaire results are overwhelmingly positive and show that students are generally satisfied with the courses that they completed. All averages (on a rating scale from 1 to 6) are close to 5. Based on the feedback, students regard the quality of teaching, the methods of teaching and supervision as well as the feedback they receive as useful. Uniarts Helsinki’s results in course feedback have improved further from the previous year’s good results.
Bachelor’s Graduate Survey 2024
Uniarts Helsinki’s results were better than in the previous year, and when reviewing the average scores, Uniarts Helsinki has the most satisfied bachelor’s students in Finland. Based on the responses, students regarded motivation to study, self-confidence in studies and support in teaching and from the community as particular strong areas. Students find that they receive high-quality feedback, give peer-support to each other and acquire strong career skills, such as creativity and problem-solving abilities. Student wellbeing has improved, and students find that they feel better in the university community and that their workloads are not as taxing anymore. At the Sibelius Academy, students’ wellbeing has already been good. However, wellbeing-related challenges, such as stress and sleeping problems, are more usual than nationally is the case. Three other themes that need further development include entrepreneurial skills, information retrieval skills as well as digital learning environments, along with related support and competence.
Master’s Career Monitoring Survey 2024
Master’s alumni who answered the survey are satisfied with their education and recommend it to others. They also feel that employers value the degree that they have completed. The respondents find that their education has improved their creativity and performance skills and their ability to learn and adopt new things. Uniarts Helsinki’s alumni feel that they can take great advantage, even more than the national average, of the information and skills that they learned at the university. In terms of practical competence, the most significant gaps between the skills required in working life and those developed during education were recorded in stress tolerance, organisational and coordination skills, project management and problem-solving.The results of the past three years show that the biggest factors in finding employment after graduation are past work experience as well as contacts and networks.
Doctoral Career Monitoring Survey 2024
The doctoral alumni who responded to the survey are generally satisfied with their degree in terms of their careers and feel that they are able to make good use of the things they learned for their degree in their current work – in fact, the scores were better than the national average. The respondents valued the ability to learn and adopt new things, information retrieval skills and problem-solving skills as highly important in their work, and they were able to hone these skills during their education. The biggest gaps in terms of how significant a skill was considered in working life and how well it evolved through studies were found in the categories of negotiation skills, operating in a multicultural environment, knowledge of legislation and sustainability and responsibility.
According to the respondents, the research topic of the dissertation and the ability to communicate one’s own skills both have an impact on finding employment after graduation, but less than in previous years. Other work experience, contacts, networks and international experience are still considered significant factors in finding employment.
