ADA AIK: 5 HOURS OF LIGHT
Ada Aik is the conceptual alter-ego of musician and composer Karin Mäkiranta.

Her upcoming album 5 Hours of Light, produced with Jonas Verwijnen (Colin Stetson, Kings of Convenience), explores the connections between scent, memory, and sound, blending ethereal melodies with sensory experiences.
In 5 Hours of Light peformance, the world of Ada Aik reveals through lighting design, live music, and various scents. Music is performed by Karin Mäkiranta as Ada Aik, musician Pihlaja Mäkiranta, and the 60-member Sibelius High School girls’ choir conducted by Reijo Aittakumpu. Salla Keskinen’s scent choreography, Ella Snellman’s minimalist scenography, and Joakim Udd’s light art installation bring out the delicate and multi-layered world of 5 Hours of Light. After the concert, the audience is welcome to experience the immersive installation at close range.
The performance includes strong scents, theatrical smoke, and flashing lights.
