Abstract of the concert series plan: The Art Of Storytelling: performance possibilities for the historically informed
This five part series redefines the classical music recital and what it means to present a “historically informed” performance by exploring interdisciplinary collaboration and storytelling.
Abstract of the written thesis: Music As Collaboration
In western art music practices, we have a history of thinking of music as written notation. This thesis explores the idea of music as a collaborative performance by investigating the interactions that happen between creators, performers and audiences when taking an idea from the beginning stages to a final performance. In doing so, this paper aims to redefine the role, responsibilities, and performance possibilities of the performer.
