Frederic Feuerbacher chose "the tango nation"
This fall the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki welcomed 68 new exchange students of 35 different nationalities. One of them is Frederic Feuerbacher, a 28-year-old violist from Tübingen, Germany. He studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, and is going to study at SibA for the whole academic year.
Frederic chose the Sibelius Academy because his former teacher, Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic, used to teach here and recommended the school to him. He was also accepted to do an exchange in Utrecht, but decided to go to Helsinki instead.
This German already knew quite a few details about Finland: “Most people live in Southern Finland, there are many many lakes, and alcohol is very expensive!” However, he also has some music trivia to tell: according to Frederic, Finland is the world’s second biggest tango nation!
When asked what he is expecting to get from his exchange year, Frederic says he is looking forward to getting new musical and personal experiences and lots of new friends from all over the world!
