Ulrika Ferm is a conceptual artist. Her often site-specific projects involve much in-depth research and tackle historical and socio-political topics. She works primarily in photography, installation and in collaborations often containing performance elements. She also belongs to the artist collective Platform in Vaasa which presents performance art and other site and situation specific disciplines. Apart from founding Platform, Ferm also has broad curatorial and organisational work experience. She has received considerable grants, prizes and nominations. In 2002, for example, she won the Finnish Young Artist of the Year award. Ferm has an MA from PALLAS, University of Art and Design Helsinki (1998) and also graduated from Hochschule der Kunste, Berlin (2001).
