6.11. Frank teachers! Fergus Feehily: The Voyager, Time and Holloway Road
A talk reflecting on the Voyager missions, long-term thinking and a tragic murder in London in the 1960s. Taking the Voyager missions of 1977 as a starting point, this talk by Fergus Feehily, professor of painting, touches on the paintings of John McCracken, the Telstar and Led Zeppelin amongst others, while making a case for thinking about more than our daily lives or even lifetimes. It’s a visual essay and a shaggy-dog story, yet one where the incidental is not entirely incidental.
