The theme and name of the exhibition Influenssa refers to influenza; a contagious disease usually spreading as seasonal epidemics and to influence which means affecting and getting affected (and other synonyms of the word influence). Meanings are propagated through structures and textures create agency. Moreover, the subject matter is also painting itself. I parse my work through tradition of painting, even though I do not care if it is a painting or something else when I work.

An essential concept for the exhibition is painting installation. The way I understand painting it’s impossible or absurd to talk about it. The discourse is theoretical or metaphorical. Also the fact that something is justified, is not an argument, because art is about opening one’s eyes. In the exhibition paintings are reasoned through spaciality, because they are surrounded by structures and architecture.
