In the lecture I will talk about my two most recent cinematic works which are Untitled (White – Alps) (2019) and Europe – Europa (work in progress). Through these two films I try to lighten my interests in working with film and moving image.
Untitled (White – Alps) is a recording of a hot air balloon flight next to Mont Blanc. The work simulates my experience of reality, in which what I see is not correlating to what I hear and what I know can’t be found in what I see. In the work Europe – Europa I look back in my own history and the memory of it through a short story that was written and sent to me by a man I met when I was 18 years old. This work in progress puzzles me with questions such as who has right to speak, to imagine and to fantasize. I look at different methods for unravelling the story in to text, voices, sounds and images and for rebuilding a work which detaches itself from its original representational and ideological forms.
