Prognostics: Lia Carreira
Syksyn Prognostics-sarjan luennot järjestetään koronatilanteen vuoksi poikkeuksellisesti etäluentoina Zoomissa.
Luentosarjan käynnistää lokakuussa 20.10. brasilialainen kuraattori ja tutkija Lia Carreira, marraskuussa 12.11. kuullaan kroatialaisen tanssijan Barbara Matijevicin työstä ja luentosarjan päättää joulukuussa 2.12. norjalainen nykytaiteilija Ida Ekblad. Luennon kesto on 45 minuuttia, ja sen jälkeen on hetki aikaa kysymyksille.
Prognostics-sarjan luennoilla kartoitetaan ajankohtaisen uuden taiteen alueita ja uusia tekemisen ja esille asettamisen muotoja, jotka haastavat paitsi vakiintuneita taiteen muotoja myös ravistuttavat yhteiskunnallisia normeja ja poliittista ajattelua.

The Exhibition Space as a Laboratory: experiments in curating Art and Technology

Lia Carreira (1985, Brazil) researches and develops methods and strategies in experimental curatorial practices. Currently, she develops research on practices of laboratorization and experimentation in Art and Technology, with a focus on the current wave of curatorial labs in the field. She is interested in mapping and analysing the formats currently implemented, as to understand what roles the lab and experimentation play and interplay with the roles ascribed to the exhibition space, to curators and to the curatorial as a whole. Moreover, her research addresses how the exhibition space can perform as a lab and, most importantly, how it can perform as a space for curatorial research and experiments.
