Symposium
Ligeti 2017 Symposium is organized by DocMus Doctoral School of Sibelius Academy, in co-operation with Musica Nova Helsinki.

The symposium concentrates on the following themes, but proposals on other aspects of Ligeti´s music are also welcome. Alongside scholarly presentations, the organizing committee encourages performers to submit proposals on lecture recitals.

  • Issues of performance
  • Music-analytical and stylistic approaches
  • Ligeti´s influence on music of our time

In addition to scholarly presentations and lecture recitals, the symposium will also feature concerts as part of its varied program, including performances of Ligeti´s Piano Etudes and music influenced by Ligeti.

Venues: Camerata Hall, Organo Hall, Sonore Hall and Auditorium

Participation information and fees

Free admission to lectures and lecture concerts, symposium abstract book 10€

There is a possibility to acquire a symposium participation package for 60€, including the following:

- Lectures and lecture concerts
- Symposium abstract book
- Coffee and buffet dinner on Friday February 10th at 5.30 p.m.
- Tickets to the following concerts:
