-received the Sibelius scholarship for studies in the US 1974-75, Marion Paton (voice), Doris Lehnert (piano)
-after piano diploma moved her focus to singing
-additional voice studies with Ralf Gothoni, Emmy Loose, Geoffrey Goldberg and Dorothy Irving
-worked as an opera singer, concert soloist and eventually a correpetitor at the Finnish National Opera 1978 -1994
-started teaching at the Sibelius Academy (opera education) 1994
-head coach 2000-
-performed as a piano soloist with RSO (1973), Lahti Symphony Orchestra (1973) and Boulder Symphony (1974)
-ca. 30 opera roles at the FNO and regional operas in Finland: Dido, Zerlina, Despina, Lauretta, Antonia, Olympia, Echo, Valencienne among others, and several roles in contemporary Finnish operas
-more than 100 evenings as a soloist for the FNO 1985-2000
-concert work with many orchestras including RSO, Avanti, the French Radio Orchestra, Oulu, Turku, Jyväskylä, Lahti, Vaasa, Lappenranta, Lappi orchestras with J-P. Saraste, E-P. Salonen, L. Segerstam, J. Storgårds, O. Vänskä, U. Söderblom, Peter Eotvös among others
-concerts and concert performances in most European countries featuring especially contemporary music with various ensembles
-sang the world premiere of the rendition of Pierre Boulez´ extensive Pli selon pli, with the Finnish Broadcasting Company Orchestra (RSO) in 1989
-renown for performances and recordings of especially Finnish contemporary music and 2nd Viennese school
-is known for many different productions of Schoenberg´s Pierrot Lunaire (Avanti /J-P. Saraste, Jyväskylä Orchestra/Houghton, Lappeenranta Orchestra/Angervo, independent productions with P. Pohjola, S. Oramo, Wladimir Mendelssohn/Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival), including staged versions without conductor
-”Det sjungande trädet” performances & recording 1994-1996 /HUOM FNO/Söderblom, also soprano soloist
-co-operation with many composers of our time, notably Erik Bergman, Kaija Saariaho, Kalevi Aho, Leif Segerstam and Franco Donatoni
-Artist of the Year at the Viitasaari Music Festival 1994
