Baryton Francois Le Roux on specialities of French vocal music

Baryton Francois Le Roux is a renowed expert in the special features of singing and interpreting French vocal repertoire. In March 2018, he visited the Sibelius Academy to give a master class for the vocal students eager to learn more about French songs and how to perform them. During a five-day visit mr. Le Roux and the students dived into the songs and opera music of Gabriel Fauré, Henri Duparc, Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc and Georges Bizet.

- The level of the students here is very high. I enjoy giving master classes – it often seems that the students tend to be a little bit more attentive on master classes than in their normal classes with their own teacher, he smiles

How to pronounce French while singing? Does a singer have to be multi-lingual or specially talented in learning languages? What may be the differences between French songs and German lieds? See the video, where mr. Le Roux gives a three-minute insight on the subject!
