“I don’t need much. For waiting, I mean. Good waiting clothes and supplies create the impression of being on the move.”

The performance is part of a series of five performances that Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy and Sibelius Academy produce in collaboration with the National Theatre’s Touring Stage. The performances will tour in different institutions and prisons in the Helsinki Region in 2019. The performances are part of a Uniarts Helsinki course on audience contact where graduating artists share their talent with healthcare and social service institutions and prisons. The performance is put together by master-level students in acting, dramaturgy and music. Äänet talossa (Voices in the house) is part of the ArtsEqual initiative, which studies how art can promote social equality.

Performers: Inka Reyes (Master’s Degree Programme in Acting) and Iiris Tarnanen (Sibelius Academy)
Script and dramaturgy: Iira Halttunen (Master’s Degree Programme in Dramaturgy)
Music: Iiris Tarnanen

Feel Helsinki is a new urban festival for the whole family, taking place at the Helsinki Music Centre on 8 June. Uniarts Helsinki organises well over a thousand events for the public on a yearly basis, but Feel Helsinki is the first opportunity to enjoy the talents of the university’s students and alumni in one place through a day-long event. The festival has program that is especially tailored for children.

Feel Helsinki invites people to come together and engage all of their senses by enjoying food, wine, art and meaningful discussions. The main partner in the event is the Viini magazine, which will turn the Helsinki Music Centre into a hub of interesting pop-up restaurants, offering delicious menus.
