Fritt inträde

Wed 11/03/2015, from 6pm to 7pm. Prognostics: Adriana Ramić (US)
Exhibition Laboratory, Merimiehenkatu 36, Helsinki

Adriana Ramić was born in 1989 in Chicago. Her work focuses primarily on the way we cope with vast quantities of data and images in contemporary society. She produces websites, drawings, and assemblages of objects, turning what is usually considered a surfeit of information into works of art. Her recent projects include a Craigslist-assisted readymade.

This lecture series inquires into the future of art by taking a closer look at the new languages, models and forms that the latest generation of artists are creating in response to the urgent questions arising today in the domains of art, politics and sociology. The series will explore the new spaces and potentialities of art by bringing together participants from diverse fields, including art, music, activism, science, technology, literature and theory.

The Prognostics lecture series is curated by Barbara Vanderlinden, Professor of Exhibition Studies and Director of the Exhibition Laboratory. The Prognostics Lecture Series is supported by the Saastamoinen Foundation.

25/03/2015 Rachael Allen (UK)
