Miettinen, Laura: Co-creating visions of intercultural music teacher education in Finland and Israel
This doctoral study is an institutional collaborative project between the music teacher education programmes at the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki and Levinsky College of Education in Tel Aviv. The study explores how music teacher educators in these programmes articulate their own intercultural competences and the competences their programme provides, and how they perceive the future needs regarding these competences on an institutional level. As developmental practitioner research that aims for co-creation and sharing of knowledge, this study will consider how a more collaborative and interculturally competent music teacher education could be developed based on its findings.
